I have olive skin, but I think I look best in shades with blue undertones?

I have light skin, especially in the winter, and I know that olive skin looks better in tones that err on the warm side. Although I'm light, I know I'm olive because most foundations for light skin end up looking too peachy on me and I also tan golden brown in the summer. However, I find that I look best in jewel tones. For example, a bluish red looks far better on me than an orangey, bright red. Plum lipstick looks better on me than coral lipstick. What am I confusing? Am I probably actually pink-er than olive? Or am I wearing the wrong tones?
