i have no imaging devices in my computer manager 10 points best answer?

i have an hp pavilion dv7 laptop and it has a built in webcam and when i pull up the device manager to find imaging devices i cant find anything and when i open hp smart cam it tells me there is no cam found and to plug one in if i have it please help me i want to video chat with my wife i havent been able to use video chat since ive had my laptop
well i already tried numorouse solutions i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it and an uptate for it and still nothing im thinking it might be a hardware malfunction should i take it to a local computer shop?
 
Most integrated solutions come on the same CD as your mother board Drivers.

Check your system recovery partition or CD for a driver for this device.
