The other day I was diagnosed with mono. My doctor says that I have had it for at least a week and a half (possibly more). I haven't even noticed that I've had it, and I haven't had any symptoms. The only reason why he figured out that I have mono is because I got an ultrasound for something else and they saw my spleen was enlarged.
I'm supposed to go to camp for about 7 weeks next Friday the 19th. Should I go? I really really really want to go and will be absolutely miserable if I don't. There is a nurses office there so if I ever need to rest I can just rest there during the day. I can avoid all strenuous activity, like, during sport time, i can just go take a nap.
What do you think?
Mono is ONLY contagious through saliva. This means that by not sharing water, not kissing, and not swimming, then there is no way I can give mono to other campers, so actually, you two have not provided me a valid reason as to why I shouldn't go to camp.
