I have lost my Nokia mobile in Bombay (Mumbai) whilst holiday here what shall I do?

My mobile has been registered with passport details and a photo given to the mobile rep in Mumbai but when my husband went to put Rs500 credit he lost it in a rickshaw. How do I get my phone blocked so that it is not misused and also can it be traced when it appears that a message comes back stating that it is locked. If it is misused by anyone am I liable at all? I have sent a message to the phone giving details where the phone can be returned if it is opened by anyone.

Call your service company and tell them that you have lost your phone and they will lock it so that no calls can be made and then you get another one for a small fee... well thats how it works for tmobile!! btw... the chargers there are different so your phone has to run out of battery eventually
