I have hairy arms?

I still attend school, and my arms are hairy. I can't get rid of the hair because my mom will kill me. Its getting really hott and I can't wear sweatshirts anymore. Do you think its nasty if people have hairy arms ? [I'm a girl and you can see the hair lol]
Is there anyway I can make them lighter in color ?
