I have got a cyst on the right vocal cord. Does anybody know what to do in this case?

I have used several medications but no good :( is the surgery the only solution for it? I have severe pains in my throat, but doctors say, the cyst can not ache you. sometimes the pain can reach the right ear. what is this pain then, if it is not because of the cyst?
