I have bad credit so I'm getting a Sprint's contract would that help me have a good credit again?

Okay so I went to see if I could get a sprint contract but since I have bad credit which it sucks I have do a downpayment, I'm trying to have a good credit again if I do a good job on paying bill on time and stay on my contract would that help to have my credit good again or atleast a little
