I have and i want to get layers. How many do i ask for?

I'd like to get layers, and i have long hair. Should i get layers? If so, how many should i get? And will it look ok? I have sort of a chubby face, if that helps. I'm just not sure what to do with it?

Any links would be greatly appreciated!!
