i have an unlocked iphone and am having trouble connecting to t mobile EDGE?

i called t mobile and they told me I had to enter in "internet2.voicestream.com" into my APN. Everytime i do this it wont hold it, I type it in, hit return and go to safari and it wont connect so I go back to the APN and it has cleared it out...........any suggestions?
