...and a sharp pain in my stomache? I am 18 years old and I tend to worry quite frequently about my health so I'm not sure if I should be concerned about this. Last night after I had been sitting for quite a while (and had to go pee very very badly) I got up to finally go to the bathroom. As I stood up I felt a horrible sharp pain right in the area of the kidney on my left side. The pain has not really left but it has become more dull. Then today when I stood up I felt a sharp pain in my lower stomach and right where it was hurting I felt a (what I think was) a lymph node. I also have had swollen lymp's under my jaw all week and have felt a little sick. I also suffer from IBS and I tend to hold going to the bathroom (which leads me to believe I could develop a kidney infection.) The problem is, I think I'm a minor hypochondriac. My parents don't even take concerns to many things I say that don't feel right because there always seems to be something wrong with me. I want to know if I am being crazy, if I should wait it out, or if this is really a kidney problem. I would also like to know more about hypochondriacs and how you overcome all the concerns (although I do feel they are all legitimate). Any answers from doctors or people that really know what they are talking about would be helpful. Thanks
The pain the first time was probably a 7. I could not stand up easily. Today I have had a minor pulsating pain I would rate a 2 and sometimes a 3. It's uncomfortable and noticable but not horrible. When I have to go pee it's more of a 5. Idk how acurate those are. I'm kind of bad at that. The pain in my stomache was on the right side near the pelvic bone. (opposite side from the flank pain) Lower than the ovaries and does not feel like cramps or an IBS pain. That sharp pain only lasted about 3 min but did hurt. I would rate it a 6. Other symptoms might include the fact that I have chronic yeast infections, I do not hydrate well, I have had swollen glands under my jaw and now on my right side. I have had a minor fever 99.2 -99.8. My left flank also hurts more when I hold pee. If I hold it a long time and then go my left flank and my bladder hurt like a 4. What mostly has me stumped is, the pain is so low grade right now. If it's a kidney infection would it hurt really bad right now?
