I have an indoor tropical palm, on my lounge laminate floor, and it keeps making it...

...sticky from the leafs...? All the leaves are very sticky too.
Is this correct, am I doing something wrong, as i don´t remember this happening 5 years ago when I bought it.
Also what is the recommended fertilser and any tips?
