I have an HTC Snap and text message times are not displayed, only the days date is.?

So I have an HTC Snap for Sprint.So when i send a text message it shows the time sent. But when i get a response it only shows the date (ex. 1/16) I took it into Sprint, and they told me it was a setting, they managed to fix it so it showed the time on the response texts, but when I updated the phone it went back to the way it was. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
