I have an flv file and I want to convert it so it plays on Blu-ray?

I have a movie in flv format on my computer (349 MB). I want to burn it onto a DVD-RW disc and then play it on my Blu-ray. My Blu-ray supports .avi .mpg .mpeg .mkv .mp4 .asf .wmv and .m4v. What format should I convert this flv movie into to give me the best quality and sound etc?
