I have a whole smackload of problems with my 1996 Acura 2.5 TL. The check engine light..

...is on.? So a couple of months ago, my emission test failed due to bad oxygen sensors, which is the reason for the check engine light. The mechanic wanted me to pay over 800 bucks for the oxygen sensors and labor. Not only that, he didn't tell me the reason for oil being found in the spark plug wells because he feels that I need to replace the oxygen sensors. And, I have oil leaking under my car to which I am assuming it my be connected to the spark plug well problem. I figure it will be alot cheaper if I had my cousin replace my oxygen sensors. When I went to look for it online, it's asking me which o2 sensors, right or left or pre or post cat, four or single wire. Can someone help me pick it out? Also, it doesn't have to be direct fit because my cousin can splice it. Also, any ideas to why there is oil leaking into the spark plug well and under my car? Thanks.

o2 senser and spark plugs will be two different problems and 2 wire or 4 wire will be rather its heated o2 senser or nor 4 wire being heated (just count how many wires the o2 senser has and is it before the cat(or on the exhaust manifold area)or after the cat and is it on the driver side or passenger side (which I am almost 100% sure doesn't matter also the oil is probably a leaking valve cover gasket and you shouldnot cut wires on an o2 sensor if you do it will not perform the way it should

Fix the leaking valve cover gaskets that seal the spark plug wells first to eliminate the engine misfire which could be causing the oxygen sensor error codes. An O2 error code does not necessarily mean the O2 sensor is bad unless the heater element burned out and even then the O2 sensor will work find after the engine is hot. First diagnose the engine problems which also include basic tune-up items like new spark plug wires if you've never replaced them.
