I have a Whirlpool dryer, and it is running, but it is not producing heat,...

It could be the heat source or you can check your dryer vent on your home. They can get clogged even if you clean your lint trap after every load. If it is clogged you can buy a dryer vent cleaning tool at lowes that will unclog the vent.

The heating core may have gone out on it. It's basically a coil of tubes kind of like in a toaster oven. The tubes are filled with gas and heat up when electricity is put to it. A fan then blows air past the coils thus heating up the air. You may try either checking the coils or checking the fan motor.
