The amplifier on your sound device is going out, and causing the popping noises.

Monitors don't make noises. If it does, it's going to start a fire soon.

It could also be your PSU can't handle your system load.

Here's the deal.
I have a weird popping noise that happens randomly on my computer. It is coming from my speakers, not the computer itself.

It sounds just like a mix between a bubble popping on a cartoon and breaking the seal on a glass jar, like for salsa.

I have a Dell 545st Windows 7 64-bit with a Realtek ALC888 HD sound card and a Zoltac GeForce9600 GT.

I just hooked up the PSU to my video card today, but it has been seated in the PCI-e slot for three days.

The pop sound started yesterday.

The pop sound happens at random intervals, I could hear two pops just seconds apart, or it could go several minutes apart, but it never stays quiet for longer than that.

If the speakers are off, the sound goes away.

The sound happens when the sound card is being used (playing music files or YouTube) and when it is inactive as well, when the computer is just sitting there.

I never put my computer or monitor into sleep mode.

The video card is hooked up to the monitor vis an HDMI cable.

The monitor is an FHX3200 (bmid)

In addition to the random popping, every once in a while, every twenty minutes or so, my monitor makes a WHOOOOOOOSH sound. Sometimes it lasts for a couple seconds, sometimes I have to turn the monitor off and back on to make it go away.

I have disabled all sound schemes. Windows itself now doesn't even play music when logging on.

I have run AntiMalware Bytes, Comodo Antivirus, A-Squared, and Ad-Aware, with nothing showing upon the scans at all.

I have NO toolbars or pop-up blockers installed on my computer at all. Unless you count the built-in pop-up blocker from Firefox 3.5, which has no sound associated with it's pop-up blocker. I also use the latest version of Chrome and Internet Explorer.

This happens when I am browsing the internet or not.

I think that's it... Sorry for it being so long, but I wanted to rule out every thing I already tried

Please help me figure out, I am going nuts.
