I have a weird case of Lactose Intolerance, what should I do?

I'm 19 now, but back in the 9th grade I was diagnosed with being Lactose Intolerant and having IBS. However for the most part I feel like it's not so much the Lactose making me sick as it's the IBS. For example, I can drink 1% milk, but 2% makes me sick. I can have the ice cream you buy at the grocery store but ice cream at an ice cream shop makes me sick. Certain creams and sauces will give me a stomach ache. I have no idea what's wrong, am I Lactose Intolerant and have IBS or just have IBS? I've read that Lactose Intolerant symptoms can show up in IBS, but I was still tested and found to be allergic to dairy. I'm very confused, and not knowing if a certain dairy product will or will not make me sick is very annoying. I guess I just want to know if anyone else have experienced the same thing as me.

Should I make a food journal? If I do that what should I do with it?

OMG OMG OMG I have the same thing! Like I dont drink milk, but ice cream at the store...is fine. At the shop...welll let's just say it never happened. It is obviously uncommen but you should be fine. If you want to make a food journal you can, that would probably helpp. Gooooood luck!:P
