so due to certain events that took place over the year and recently i cant go to the university that i accepted which is the only university i applied to in my city. its too late to reapply to university so i am stuck with the places i already applied to but they are all out of town which is fine... except it is too late to get residence and if i get an apartment it would be with people in 3rd and 4th year which is weird because id only be going into first so i dont really want to do that. i cant get my own apartment and i dont know anyone else who i can get one with... any suggestions??? i am desperate.

I don't know what the area is like where you will be moving, but at several of the schools I've been associated with there are people in the neighborhood who will rent out a room to a student. It would probably be a little safer and less isolated than living in an apartment, although in some locations, it is something like a room over the garage or a guest house behind the main house. Often the person renting out the room is an elderly person who is equally uncomfortable living in the house alone, and they may even give you a break on the rent if you can help out with things like cleaning, if you choose. Check with your school's housing office, in the school paper, or on bulletin boards around campus for ideas.
