I have a sports coat that needs washing - should I dry clean or just throw in...

...the washing machine? It says 'Dry clean only' on the label however this is more expensive. The item is 100% cotton and the inner lining is 100% polyester.

I know that wool suits and jackets should always be dry cleaned but I heard that other materials are ok to wash in a machine with a gentle detergent and low temperature.

Just wanted to run this past all you Yahoo-ers! Any thoughts appreciated.
 
Do not put it in the washer id it is dry clean only. It will totally lose its shape. You have to take it to be dry cleaned or get those special dry cleaning bags that you put in your own dryer. NO WATER!
