I have a sharp pain in my left shoulder every time I take a deep breath?

a few days ago I was watching tv and everything was fine but then all the sudden my left shoulder started hurting and u thought if I sleep on it it will go away. So anyway I woke up the next morning and the pain was still there and it was a little bit worse so I thought I'm just gonna take it easy today and not do anything too physical. So the next day I woke up and the pain was almost completely gone I could barely feel it and I thought good its better. But it wasn't better cause the next day I woke up and felt fine but as the day progressed the pain came back and its been with me ever since. So now everytime I breathe in deep I get a really sharp almost hollow feeling from the back of the blade of my shoulder to my neck a just a little bit in front near the left side of my chest near the heart. Its very painful when I lay down but not quite as bad if I'm standing. I did a little research and saw that pleurisy may be what I have but I cannot be sure. So can sombody please give me an idea of why this may be. I'm sorta scared cause this is obviously not normal. Help!
