I have a Sanyo VPC-T850 and when I power it on, it turns right back off!?

I bought a new batt. and charged it over night and it continues to do the same thing. If I hold the zoom button before I power it on it will display a black screen but it stays on for about 30 seconds. HHHEEELLLPPP!!!! Of course the warranty ran out 3 weeks prior and I have to send it to Sanyo, but my daughter wants her Birthday present now!!
