please help!? I have owned my DLP television for about 3 years and have never changed the Lamp. Lately I am experiencing the television shutting itself off and then the red "Lamp" light begins to blink. I then have to wait 30 seconds to turn the TV back on. The television continues to turn itself off every 10 minutes. I have looked up this problem on various forums and have found the following reasons why the television is turning itself off:
1. Trap door on the back of the television needs to be firmly secured or the television will start to turn itself off.
2. DLP Lamp needs to be replaced.
3. Sleep timer is on
4. Fan is not working properly, which is causing the lamp to overheat.
Of these possible reasons, I believe it might be a fan malfunction because when I put a high powered floor fan behind the television it does not shut itself off anymore. Is the problem the DLP Lamp or Fan? If I need to maintenance or replace the fan or lamp, is that something I can do myself? Am I diagnosing the problem properly? Where is a good location for television repair (San Diego)?
