I have a question about using a Boss ds-1 distortion pedal with my guitar?

I got a squire strat. It sounds more acoustic then electric cause im pretty sure its only a single coil. Its hooked up to a standard squire sp-10 amp. Do you think this thing could make it sound more like Angus Youngs playing sounds in all AC/DC songs? i just started playin so i dont know all that much
