...paint should I use? I have a wooden chair that is already painted, but needs to be re-painted.The paint that is on there is faded and stained but not peeling.I am planning on just sanding the old paint and painting over it.The chair is outdoors. What kind of paint should I use?

My mom has painted furniture on wood for over 20 years. she first primes the piece with White gesso, paints using acrylic paints, then puts on a coat or 2 of polyurethane to protect the paint from chipping.

I've learned from experience that chairs are easier to spraypaint, especially if they have any decorative spindles in the back or turned legs, etc. Spray it with outdoor spray paint - use the $4 can paint, not the cheaper stuff. I personally do no like Krylon, but there are other brands available. After the paint dries, put a coat or two of spray polyurethane on it and you'll have a paint job that will stand up to the elements.
