I am out of state for my step-mothers funeral for a few days. I dropped my cell phone into a glass of iced tea like an idiot. I grabbed it right away, dried if off, took the battery out and put both parts into a bowl of rice for 6 hours.
I put battery back in, made a couple of calls. The voices were a little low but I had no problem hearing them. About a half hour later, I received a text and tried to open it with no luck. My key pad was locked up. I took it apart again, ran the hairdryer over it for about 5 minutes, turned it back on.
Now my screen saver has been replaced with a pic of a cell phone, a globe, and 2 arrows. Underneath it says, S/W Upgrade Voice calls disabled. Please, don't remove the USB cable.
Verizon and Sprint are the only carriers in this state, with the nearest us cellular store over 300 miles away.
Is there anything else I can do or is my phone fried?
