Basically i bought a Yamaha YZF R125 back on 23rd September 2009, at the time i was 16 and not legally allowed to ride it. I am now 17 and have just passed my CBT today, and when i went to tax it online it comes up saying that my bike has been unlicensed since the 1st September 2009, it will still let me tax it but it says that i will still be liable for the offense of being a registered keeper of a bike that is unlicensed, i'm pretty sure that as soon as the DVLA was notified that the registered keeper of the bike had changed then they should have sent me a form (V11) i think... wanting me to either TAX or SORN it ?? i really need advice on what they can do to me for having the bike unlicensed??

i dont think you can get out of this one. you could try asking the previous owner if hed sorned it because i think that stands for a year but im not sure what happens in the event of change of ownership whilst a vehicle is sorned.
if you havent been caught using it on the road then itll be back tax and possibly a fine.
