Try to translate... the time from pressing the shutter button on the camera untill the camera actually takes a picture takes a little less than a quarter of a second and the shot is lost.
This is called "Shutter lag". ALL digital point and shoot cameras have this issue - some are marginally faster than others, but they all have the problem.
Digital SLRs and film cameras (pocket, consumer or SLR) do not have this problem. There is not anything you can do to that camera to "fix" it because it is not broken. The only thing I can think of is to replace the camera with one that has a shorter "shutter lag" or no shutter lag at all. Yes, they cost more.
