...should it cost? the check engine light bulb also needs to get replaced. i got an estimate of about $430. which i think is too much.
 
Call Autozone or Advance for the coil price.
As far as the bulb needing replace you can take the trim pieces off that cover the cluster. Then take out the screws that hold the clear cover off and then get to the bulbs. It isn't the hard but is time consuming. The price is beyond crazy. It sounds like they are taking the car to another shop and pay them to do the job and then inflate the price. And all they had to do was sit back and let someone else do the job for them.
 
coil most anyone can replace not much to it really couple wires an da hold down bolt might take 5 minutes but check light light might not be that easy since most newer car dash lights are on a board you have to replace whole dash might need a shop for that but a coil could do that yourself
