A plane leaves the east cost as the sun rises and it lands on the west cost just before the sun sets. The flight was 2400 miles long.

How fast was the plane flying?

Well, what time of year is it? Summertime the sun comes up earlier and sets later than in wintertime. I do know that it wasn't flying too fast
In summertime, the sun might come up at 6:00 Am and set at 8Pm
In wintertime, the sun comes up around 7 AM and sets around 5 PM

there is a 3 hour difference in time, so the flight was probably about 9 hours long (I assume sunrise to sunset is about 12 hours). in this case, the plane was flying 2400/9 or 267 mph.

The plane was flying 160 mph.

My logic: plane depart at sunrise east coast = 6 am
which would be 3 am west coast. Plane lands west coast at sunset = 6 pm west coast. From 3 am until 6 pm west coast is 15 hours. 2400 mile trip divided by 15 hours = 160 mph
