I have a math question pls help SAT test coming up :( ?

A basketball team had a ratio of wins to losses of 3:1. After the team won six games in a row, Its ration of wins to losses becam 5:1 How many games had the team won b4 winnig six games in a row?
a) 3
B) 6
c)9
D) 15
e) 24
pls also explain how u did it i understand math talk so don't worry bout me understanding thx for ur help :)

solution:
ratio of wins to losses=3:1
if the team wins 3x games it loses x games
when the team won 6 games in a row ..number of wins=3x+6
and ratio of 3x+6 to x=5:1
3x+6/x=5/1
3x+6=5x
2x=6
x=3
before the team won 6 games in a row it had won 3x games
that is 3*3=9
