...stuck. How do I fix it? a month ago my 19 yr old standard shift toyota got totally submerged in flood waters. I got the engine running but still cant drive it as it wont shift from neutral to first or any other gear. It appears to be stuck. How do i fix it.
 
The gearbox has been polluted with water in the fluid.
you can try draining it and running a flushing fluid through it then refilling with fresh gearbox fluid.

If no joy, then it's a replacement box or send it to the Great Scrapheap in the Sky.
