He has finally (I hope) made the decision to file for divorce. His wife was physically abusive years ago but had not been for a long time until recently - IMO because he has put pressure on her in recent months to get treatment for her problems and has issued ultimatums about her behaviour.
I have read that female victims of abuse are in most danger the day they try to leave, am I correct in thinking this is also the case for men. I want to warn him of this and maybe advise him to have a relative with him when he breaks the news, in case she gets violent, but I am afraid that if I do he may reverse his decision for fear of her reaction.
What should I do?
