I have a Japanese or chinese clone of the Galaxy note international and it runs 2G for tmobile and at&t, HELP?

I just bought this phone and want to make it so it will read the at&t 3G towers because right now its only reading edge (2G)
I already got it rooted I just dont know how to switch it so it will read the at&ts 3g towers instead of its other country
Is there a root for it?
