i have a honda crv and it will not crank or go into gear..son got it stuck in the mud

and had to be pulled out? my son got stuck in the mud and got the car so hot trying to get out that it caught the hay on fire..and it did melt some of the front grill..and now it will not crank and it will not go into gear to push it around(not by hand either) the gear shift cable does look burnt...any help thanks
