i have a honda civic lx 1989 pl help me?

i was drivin my car and i stop in the store and after that the car would not start i thought i needed gas because i let it go lower than i usually do so i went and got a gallon of gas it staill did not start so i went and got 3 more gallons and it still has not started does the car need more gas or is the some thing wrong with it ??? my car is a honda civic lx 89 and i do not have any money to fix it please may i have some feed back asap thank in advance

i was told i have a 4 cylinder gas
 
sounds like the fuel pump . ok, you need to check and see if you hear the pump running when you first turn the ignition on the pump will prim the injectors low ,to med. humming noise from the rear of car if not the it's the fuel pump. hope this helps.
 
If you constantly run the car with little in the gas tank, then you tend to draw the muck from the tank into the filter. Change the fuel filter, and keep the gas tank above half full.
