I have a Honda Accord w/ 100000 plus miles, can a synthetic oil be better

You will get different answers.After 25 years in automotive service-I still use convension (petroleum) oil because I'm not convinced synthetic is worth the price (others will disagree).Keep changing oil regularly (3k-5k miles) and on that car....REPLACE TIMING BELT if it hasn't been done.
 
than conventional oil? I have used conventional oil up to now? Will I be just wasting money or does it make a difference in a 100000 mile car?
