7 days ago I had a tetanus vaccine for my holiday to Luxor. As a frequent world traveller I DO NOT normally worry abour vaccines, but..having visited the area before I felt I should check what is needed, HepAB and Tetanus. I had the usual discomfort for a day or so, not flu like symptons, no temperature nothing. On Sunday I woke to find a lump on my arm where the vaccine was. It has knot like lump. It was itching like a mosquito bite, not too bad but noticeable. I went to my doctor, he examined and said muscle is inflamed due to vaccine. He prescribed Ibuprofen and Voltaron gel, and also ok to use antihestimine gel. I had already administered this as forward thinking. I am using as prescribed but the lump remains the same. It is not painful and no real discomfort unless I force my arm up high or knock the bump or somebody touches without me being prepared. Is this normal??? what can I do to help the lump disperse or go away??? any advice would be appreciated...I am 61 female, I have great medical care here. I have checked the internet and there are lots of stories about tetanus vaccine....one really scary one about a guy who believes it is a contributory factor to Azheimers....offfffffffffffff do we really need to read this kind of horror story!! thanks guys.....for your advice.
