Yes, would should a 2008 chevy cobalt lt average coolant temp be? and whats to high for these cars and what could be the fix? It has been running 190 for the last month and now just out of the blue its running 207-215ish? it has a brand new thermostat and thermostat sensor. The coolant level is a little over full but not by much?
when started in the morning it will run 190ish like normal for about 20 mins til its warm, then it starts to get higher at idles ... The fan does work fine. and the ac has not been on. It been babied not beat or anything
 
if your running with the a/c on this could be the issue and does it have a stock thermostat because just one from auto zone can be a little diffterent opening temperature
 
im guessing you still have a power train warranty, Take it to your Dealer and have them check your cooling system. Could be a water pump or hose, or it could be a head gasket!
