I have a Ford Ranger 1999 3.0L and the check engine light and code 455. I replaced gas

cap but no luck, help? I bought a second gas cap and cleared the code. After a day or so, the light came on. At first is was a small leak, now it progressed to a gross leak. What should I check next and how can I check it?
