I have a ford escort ZX2 with 77000 miles on it. Does it need a Timing Belt done?

Hi,

I am a new owner of a ZX2. It needs new front tires and an alignment+a horn. It has 77000 miles and everything else checks off as good. Should i do the timing belt? Some people say that it should have been done at 60,000 others say that it should be done at 90,000. What do you guys think and should i do a tune up or anything?

Thanks,

Ben

I've owned 15 cars in my life. I always do a tune up on a used car i purchase. I have a lot of friends with ZX2's... im not a huge fan but they seem to be. Most of them ended up changing the timing belt around the 70k mile mark, except one of my goof ball friends. He did his at 55k because he drives like a maniac :) I sugest you do it now and have peace of mind :)
