I have a Fiat Punto Sporting, I overheat when idle for a while or stuck in traffic?

If I am stuck in a long queue of traffic the car overheats, its only get to about the 1/2 way mark and the car starts rumbling and shaking, when I switch the engine off it takes about 5 minutes for the noise to stop. Can anybody help me?

I have checked the coolant/antifreeze and this is full.
The oil is fine, topped that up yesterday and there was no mayo like fluid to be seen anywhere
