The car is a 97' Deville
I have 2 15" Kicker 4 Ohm L7 DVC subwoofers (1000 rms each)
that I plan on running 1 Ohm with a soundstream 2000rms monoblock amplifier. 0 gauge kit.
I am concerned about the cars ability to supply the electrical demand. I have been reading quite a bit about this, and it seems people are saying to do
"The Big 3"
"aftermarket alternator"
"capacitors"
"replace/add batteries"
I shouldn't have much trouble figuring out "The Big 3"
I have only heard good things about it.
What capacitor would be appropriate for this set-up?
Where can I get a better alternator? How much? how many amps?
Obviously adding 5 batteries won't help if they aren't getting charged, I am considering an Optima Dry cell to replace my current diehard acid box.
If I have a problem when I complete installation I will try the big 3, I really hope I don't have to buy an alternator I am guessing them b1tches are expensive.
I have done a few cars before but this will be the biggest and most expensive, I am looking for advice so I don't fu<k it up.
