Did you rebuild the carburator on this vehicle.?
Did you tune it up properly and the wiring is all correctly to where its supposed to be.?
Before you go any further have a series of tests done and start at the ignition section and then lastly the fuel area its possible that some old crud is clogging up the fuel filter and the culprit is the bottom of the fuel tank where a fine mesh sock is located at there.
The fuel tank is going to have to be drained out again and the whole thing flushed out with water and then put out to dry when that is done then you have to remove the lock ring on the tank and replace the sock and the fuel sender completely with a new unit.
