I have a Dell Studio 1737 and a SanYo Vizon HCTV.?

Well, I tried to hook my laptop up to my HD tv with an HDMI cable and is was to big on the tv screen I tired everything, and nothing seems to work. I have Windows 7.
I could do this when I had Windows Vista installed. I tried to change the resolution.
