how many years of college do you need?
what do you need to major in?
what kind of classes do you need to take?
How much do they get paid?
How long is each shift?
What is the best colege to study becoming a local news broadcaster?

Well, for starters, a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism is a huge plus! That requires 4 years of college. There are all sorts of classes that are helpful like Media Law, writing classes and if you're lucky, they probably should have a student-run news station! When you get out into the business, you can not expect to get paid much starting out. You have to work your way up, just like anyplace else. I'd say $20,000 a year starting is about average. I here Missouri University has an excellent broadcasting school.
