I have a Chevy Suburban. 03 and when i start it up it shakes and the rpms are going up

and down? It also acts? like it's going to die out.. While I'm at a stop light the RPM's will go down and then back up.. I have to put my foot on the gas to keep it going.
I put a fuel pump in it last year.. And a Clutch fan. I did the work myself.
Now I don't know what this is. Please help me.
oH yes i forgot to mentions the check engine light goes on and off.
 
You have either a vacuum leak or one of your fuel injectors is malfunctioning. I have the same problem with my 98 truck. Have replaced all the other sensors. But my problem lies in the fuel injectors. Runs just like you described.
 
i think it's your 02 sensor oxygen sensor. Or the map sensor.
Or your alternator could be going out ..I meant to say you mass airflow sensor
