I have a 99 jeep wrangler with a 2.5l, 4 cyl. I want to do a 3 inch lift with 33's.?

I was told 4:88 gears would solve any power loss. How hard is the gear swap and is this the best thing to do without having to buy 4.0?

it is definitely better a 4.0 6 in line,but dont get dissapointe,it is still a good off roadder.
i suggest for a 3" lift with 33 tires go to 4.56 instead.
you dont what to go too high on rpm's
go to 4 wheel drive.com and see the gear/tire chart.
