I have a 98 Buick Lasabre. My fuel pump started going out, so I had it replaced.?

Now, it's having a hard time starting. It takes a few good, long cranks to turn over. What could the problem be?
It started just fine before repairs, it just had a high pitch whining (from the failing pump) and it occasionally stalled.

The filter was also changed.
 
that's a common GM problem.....and usually is caused by the fuel draining back into the fuel tank after the vehicle is switched off.....you can have it fixed but can b costly since it may b several things needing replacement....

only trick i can tell u is turn the key on to the run position and let the fuel pump run for a few seconds b4 ur try starting the engine....good luck
