one time i was on my way to school and the gas reader thing was going down like a timer. can this be that the reader is messed up or there is something wrong with the car thats making it waste a lot of gas? i need help asap
I JUST HAD A TUNE UP! AND I GOT A SMOG CHECK ON IT LIKE 2 WEEKS AGO. THE TIRES ARE A LITTLE UNDER INFLATED THOUGH. I NEED NEW TIRES

The gas mileage cannot be much below normal if it is within legal emissions trim and passed the smog test 2 weeks ago as you say. It just cannot possibly use as much fuel as you think it is and still be within legal emissions trim. You mentioned under inflated tires. That would affect your gas mileage but not so much that it would send a rational person into a dither of nervous distress as you seem to be. So what remains? I suppose you may have a fuel leak or you may have a problem with the fuel level sender in the tank or a problem with your fuel gauge.

Take your car to a Toyota dealer. Toyotas are the best cars in the world. You may have suffered some physical damage to something. Check the area where you park the car for signs of leaking. Many problems are often quite simple. We had a bad key...a friend suggested cleaning the key. End of problem.

it could be many things..........leaks, bad sensors, you should check it out immediately especially if its that old and if you have a lot of miles on it !!
