i have a 97 buick laseber 3.8 v6 custom and there is a code P2406 its evap...

...leak somthing? can any one help me tell me how to fix my probelm with this car it pass emissions but i think they passed me to just get me though it shouldnt have passed if that was a probemle right
 
99% of the time the evap code will be a gas cap issue. A bad cap, filling the tank with the car running,or cap left loose. There are otrher reasons but the cap is almost always the issue. usually not bad, just left loose. The comp. is looking for the evap system to hold pressure so that gas fumes dont kill a butterfly , owl , or the ozone layer. Have the code cleared, make sure you tighten the cap until it "clicks" each time you add fuel and you'll probably be fine.
